Ty Atwood is a designer, artist, and educator whose work bridges fine art and furniture design. He earned a B.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2011, where he developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling, composition, and material exploration. Driven by an interest in functional art and spatial design, Atwood returned to Savannah College of Art and Design to pursue an M.F.A. in Furniture Design, which he completed in 2019.

Since 2023, Atwood has served as a Professor of Furniture Design at Savannah College of Art and Design, where he teaches furniture design, visualization, and fabrication processes while mentoring emerging designers and artists.
